What we do
We repair, restore, tune and decorate piano donations from our workspace in Shawlands. We have a range of acoustic pianos for sale or hire and we are open . . . by appointment. We recycle pianos beyond repair, reusing materials to create new artworks and furniture. We facilitate Lids Open Days/Nights and other events in a wide range of public venues.
After over a decade as 'Glasgow Piano City' we have changed our name . . . long story !
As a not-for-profit social enterprise we sell used pianos with permission from our piano donors, though neither a shop nor a dealer, we are something in between. In actuality, we offer more of a 'Piano Transplant Service', connecting people with pianos and offering long term no-interest payment plans, increasing access to and appreciation of acoustic pianos for people in Glasgow and beyond.
Thanks to National Lottery players, we have received £10,000 from National Lottery Awards for All, in celebration of
the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games and we will be running a summer of piano shenanigans starting with . . .
a return to The Burrell Collection for another Lids Open Day on Sunday June 28th from 11.30am till 4.30pm.
The piano will be in the central auditorium with performances from 1pm to 2pm from Glasgow Voices Choir and Kate Barrie.
